How Ask Your Mind Works

Zero Registration: No Name, No Email, No Sign-in

Traditional platforms ask you to sign in with Google or create an account with your email. We do neither. You simply choose a category, type your question, and submit. Our backend does not log your IP address in the questions database, preventing any link between your identity and your inquiry.

Cryptographic Secret Code Generation

When you submit, our system generates a unique 12-character high-entropy secret code (e.g., ask-4k9m-x7pq-2v8r). This code is displayed only once for you to copy. On the server, only a one-way salted SHA-256 cryptographic hash is stored.

Because raw secret codes are never stored on the server, even in the event of an inspection, no one can compute your secret code from the stored hash. You hold the only key.

Human Review & Compassionate Response

Every submitted question is reviewed by our community care team. Moderators provide thoughtful, non-judgmental peer guidance. We are transparent about response types: whether an answer is written directly by a human or generated with AI drafting assistance, it is always reviewed and verified by human staff before publishing.

Private Retrieval (Zero Search Engine Indexing)

You check for your answer whenever you are ready by typing your secret code into the lookup field. Individual questions and answers are never placed on public feeds, never accessible by web crawlers, and protected with HTTP anti-indexing headers (X-Robots-Tag: noindex).

Right to Be Forgotten & Automatic Expiration

You maintain total control. When viewing your question, you can permanently delete it at any time. Furthermore, unanswered questions expire and are purged after 90 days, while answered records are purged after 180 days to prevent data accumulation.
